Keng Boon - Bon Voyage!!

Time really flies.. Thinking back to the time when im in poly year 1, i used to stick around with this bunch of buddies.. "study" together, eat together, skip class together and go ktv and clubbing together.. And now, everyone is either having a stable career and going for their studies advancement in other countries. This time round, Keng Boon is going to China for 2 years. We have a small gathering over dinner at orchard sushi restaurant, following by ktv session at party world. Before we proceed to partyworld, we suddenly feel like buying a memento for our dear friend, so cecilia and me run to HMV and bought a fossil watch for him. On behalf of the rest of the "monkeys", i would like to wish him a safe journey and all the best in his career advancements.

Last but not least, i would like to tell those buddies who are currently reading my post, and have the intention of travelling away or already residing at some other countries: "I dun care how far u travel, you better be back when i am ready to throw my wedding dinner!! - especially to Kengboon (china) and Cecilia (sydney)

Lucky me.. Im able to find a popular JP for my rom. His name is Mr. Phang Tai Heng and he is very friendly when i chat with him over the phone. I have read through forums and most of them give good feedbacks for his services.. Only one had gave a slightly negative feedback as he forgot to ask the groom to kiss the bride after signing on the marriage cert. Hope that dont happen to me..

Who Is The RoBot Who Escaped From Outer Space

ROM

Sorry for not able to blog for quite some time as im busy doing arrangement for my rom. Just to update what i have been doing lately..

My ROM date is fixed on 22/12/2007 and after spending so many months searching high and low for suitable hotel, we finally confirmed to solemnise at Grand Plaza Park Hotel as i like the waterfall garden within the hotel which forms a nice backdrop for photoshooting.

Other than that, Kelvin and i had confirmed my bridal package with WhiteLink to dress me up for my ROM and big day. The package cost us $3288, much more expensive than average boutique but the services and photography skills are strongly recommended by kelvin's friends as they had taken up their package from WhiteLink as well. Well, some of them may end up paying $6000 - $8000 as the photographer is so pro that the couples wanted to print more photos than what is provided for them. Each piece of picture cost ard $75 - $80 so in the end they burn a big hole in their pocket. I hope that i wont be the next victim..

I used to think that wedding is so wonderful, all brides look like princesses on their big day.. But now i realise that what lies behind those fairytales scenes are the hardwork and efforts done in at least a year in advance to make everything come true on that very day.

As for now, although im just preparing for ROM but i been instructed by my bridal co-ordinator to do my research on what kind of dress. hairstyle that i like, so they can have an idea on what kind of design im looking for. And im not suppose to cut or perm my hair as i have to leave it as long as possible so the hair-styler can do more design on my hair.. So sickening and uncomfortable when my fringe keep poking into my eyes... No choice, for the sake of that special day, i have to bear with it. I think the easiest instruction i have to follow is not to get tanned.. anyway, i also hate sunny weather as well!!

Anyway. I still have alot of things not done yet.. I have not done the following things:

- Confirmation on JP

- ROM registration

- Buy wedding band

- Buy unique design wedding pillow

- Confirmation on photographer

- Confirmation on menu and attendances

- Buy a pair of heels to match my dress (to be done in dec)

- Venue decoration and wedding bear

Just hope that i have enough time to plan on all these as kelvin is helping much.. His reason is that he in-charge of paying for most of the expenses so i have to do my own research and decide on the service providers.. Aaggrrr.. nvm, i bear with it, im going to throw the roles of decision maker back to him for the actual wedding.. =p

Reckless Cab Driver

I realize that most of the cab drivers nowadays are very reckless on road. For example, when I was on my way home after work today in bus 106, a SMRT cab suddenly drive out from roadside to the bus lane without any signal when my bus is approaching the bus stop. It is very dangerous as they nearly knock into each other. Lucky the bus driver manage to brake in time and I nearly fell because the bus is very crowded and i'm just standing beside the front door...

The cab drive drove off and at the same time he wind down his window and put his hand out. I tot that he will signal apology but the cab driver think he is not in the wrong and point third finger to the bus driver!! The drive driver is very angry and note down the cab plate no. 5098.

This incident really makes me very piss off with this kind of cab drivers. They do not like to signal when they cut lane or making a turn and caused me nearly had an accident for a few times when I’m driving on the road. I think most of us have deal with this kind of drivers or seen this kind of scenario on the road.

Sometimes I really wonder why these cab drivers cannot drive with more courtesy? They like to speed, cut lane or making U-turn in dangerous manner to show the other that they are very skillful drivers or to show that they are road bullies? Why they didn’t think of the consequences if they get into serious accidents b'cos of their stupid action? They are not only putting their lives and the passengers’ lives at risk, but also taking risks to have their taxi licenses been suspended as well.

Anyway, I will not pity these cab drivers if they lost their jobs as they truly deserve to be punished! As for me, I learn my lesson to drive more carefully if there are any cabs in front of me.

My Wisdom Tooth.. Ouch!!

I have been very unlucky for these few months.. My health has not been good and I got sick with high fever, flu, cough, sore throat etc during my exam period. I can't really focus on my revision and exams as I feel very tired and physically weak. I slowly recovered and thought that I can enjoy myself after my exams.. But now is my wisdom tooth causing me problems. It has been very painfully for past one week plus to two weeks. I though it is just some common gum problems when I get too heaty, but its getting from bad to worse and I cant even sleep or eat..

Finally, I can't stand the pain anymore and went to a dentist. He say that it is my wisdom tooth causing my pain and indirectly, it may cause me to have gum disease. The dentist ask if I wanted to extract my tooth right away or do some kind of cleaning, filling, etc to see if it gets better after that. Ofcos I opt for the cleaning as i'm very scare of pain. Last time, kelvin suffered for 2 weeks plus when he extract his wisdom tooth and he can't even talk or eat. However, there is a positive effect of his wisdom tooth extraction, that is... he quit smoking after that as he can't smoke during that painful period of time.. haha!

After the cleaning, my mouth still feel the pain and the doctor prescribe some extra strong panadols for me. Although I didn’t extract my tooth, but it still bled. Dun know if it bled from my gum or tooth, and I can only eat soft food for this period of time.. If the pain still continue in next one month time, I think I have no choice but to extract it out..

By that time, I think that I will not only suffer physical pain but heart pain as well. It will cost me at least $500 to extract the wisdom tooth and my company do not have dental claims!! I told my mom about it and she advised me to quit as this company do not provide those common employees welfare benefits as being provided by most of the companies (my company only provide insurance claim for hospitalized surgery). I somehow agreed with her as all of my ex companies have employees benefits of dental claims, medical claims etc... Since the job market is quite good right now, I may move on soon... =)

Third Day of Bangkok Trip - 21/04/07

We suppose to wake up early today to make gd use of our last day to shop!! But i think the red wine is really very good... me and Steph have such a gd rest that we overslept!!! We only woke up when Sharon had prepared herself and come over to peep at us, and shock to see us trying to climb out of bed!!! We had a nice breakfast - Dunkin Donuts and Sushi in our rooms and very sweet of Stanrick to make tea for us... After taken our breakfast, Me and Steph pack our lugguage and moved it to Sharon's room as our room has to be check out by noon.

After checking out our room, we went to MBK again for our last round of shopping to buy some gifts, snacks and dunkin donuts to bring back to S'pore. Since we do not have much time to shop, we split into 2 group- me and Steph in a group, and the lover bird from the other group. We and Steph went for crazy shopping spree on beauty products and bags at level 3. I bought 5 bags and Steph bought even more bags than me!! After that, Steph went to shop for her kelvin's gifts, as for me, i shop for some lingeries. While i walking through the shops, suddenly saw some shop rushing to close up their shop and some people looking quite panic by their expression on their face. I went to ask Steph if she knows whats going on, and she told me that Sharon has sms her that there are fire and smoke coming out from Level 6. Im so shock when i heard it, and faster hold Steph hand to get out of the shopping mall (incase we lost each other in the crowd). At this moment of time, Steph very funny.. She ask if we can buy dunkin donuts before we get out of the shopping mall. At that time, i dun know if i should laugh or wat, i replied her that the donut shop shld be closed le and continue to head to the exit of the shopping mall. When we get out of it, we managed to meet up with the loverbird and we stand at a side to observe the situation.

At this time, sharon do a comical stunt that stone me. She saw me that she has taken a pic of firemen climbing up through the exterior wall of the building to put out the fire.. But when i look up to the building, it seem to me that the "firemen" are cleaning the windows of the building with pails of water and cloth.. haha.. After confirmation with Stanrick, the "firemen" are actually the cleaners lah.. Sharon blur sotong!!

After awhile, we saw fire engines coming to our direction one after the other. I think there are at least 7 fire engines and the situation should be quite serious.. Even the hotel staffs from the hotel next to MBK also come out of their hotel as well.

We waited for awhile, hope that we can continue to shop after fire being put out.. But in the end we dun think the shops will resume operation in next 1 or 2 hour, so we decided not to waste time and return back to hotel to put down our shopping bags and proceed for our massage!! As there are no cabs, so four of us squeeze into a toot-toot and head back to hotel. After we reach our hotel, Steph show us what she bought - necklace and ring for 1800 baht. After rested awhile, as we are walking out of the hotel for massage, Steph realise that she lost her necklace and ring that she shown to us earlier on. She faster went back to hotel room to search for her accessories.. After awhile, she come down look very disappointed that she cant find her accessories. We try to console her and told her that after we have our massage and our lunch, we will go back to hotel straight away to find her find her accessories.

Sharon , Stanrick and me choose the normal traditional massage and Steph choose a oil massage, so she went into a different room and three of us went into another room for our massage. Sharon very lucky, the one who massage her is a lady. As for me and stanrick, it is two guy who served us. Feel kind of funny and paisei as i used to been massage by ladies only. After the massage, we went into a cafe "bug and beetle" at next door for our lunch.

After eating out lunch, it is already ard 4.45pm. We faster rush back to hotel to help Steph to find her accessories. We checked throughout Sharon's room, including our own lugguage bags, bed, drawer, toilet, rubbish bin, under the bed, table etc but still cant find her accessories. In the end, we giveup as we need to rush to the airport for our flight. At this moment, we all can sense that Steph is really very sad while Sharon and Stabrick check out their room. Steph is very quiet in the cab when we are on the way to airport. We reached airport at around 6pm and we try to cheer Steph up that her accessories maybe placed somewhere in her bag.

We took 8pm flight and reached S'pore at ard 11+pm. Steph bf, kelvin is very sweet. He reached airport at 10+pm le to fetch us and treated us to prata. We head back to Steph's house to take Stanrick's car and on the way we chat about the sound we heard in the hotel room and sharon said that she also heard funny noise when she is bathing.. Very creepy and my hair really stand at that very minute. Im abit scare after hearing the creepy discussion and very kind of Stanrick to send me home since no one pick me up from airport.. =( Actually, it is very disappointing to have no one fetch me from airport.. but luckily, i am blessed with friends...

On the next day, Steph called me up and told me that she had found her ring and necklace. It is hidden under the shirt that she bought for Kelvin.. Haha.., lucky she found her stuff, which concluded the trip as a tired but fun experience.

This is the first time i went tour with friends and during this period of time, when im very depressed with my relationship problems.. Thanks to them, they accompany me, talk to me and encourage me. I am really blessed to have such friends around me, cant imagine how am i going to tide through w/o them. Ofcos, i have to mention Chris as well. Although she didnt go to the trip with us, she being consoling and encourage me in office and asked Sharon to tk care of me when im in bangkok. The other person i wan to thanks is Tim as well. Thanks for his care and concern.. i will always remember and be thanksful to all of you... => Sharon, Stephanie, Chris, Tim, Stanrick... =)

Second Day of Bangkok Trip - 20/04/07

Stephanie and i woke up at 8.30am to prepare ourself to meet up with Sharon and Stanrick for second day of shopping spree at 9am. We went to the nearby BK for our breakfast and took a cab down Erawan Shrine for prayers to the Four Face Buddha. Although it is a friday morning, but theres already a crowd when we there. We do not know the exact procedure for the prayers therefore we stand at a corner to observe how others did their prayers before we pray. We paid 10 bahts for some joss stick and a ring of flowers and start our prayers. After our prayers, we took a cab down to MBK, one of the largest shopping malls in Bangkok. Today, i have bigger achievement than yesterday.. I bought a pair of sun glass, 1 handbag and some beauty products such as nail polish and eyeshadows. After that, we and stephanie head towards Watson to buy those general products such like acne gel, shampee, facial wash as it is so much cheaper than in S'pore and some of the products are not sold in S'pore as well.

After shopping for a few hours, we head towards the foodcourt for our lunch. We had SharkFins soup with rice and it taste yummy!! At the foodcourt, we need to buy coupons before we can buy our food, if there is any unused credits, we can exchange it back for cash.. Quite troublesome.. After lunch, we continue shopping again. Me and Sharon bought some beauty products again. She bought busher and mascara and i bought mascara for myself. Initially i wanted to buy a few pair of watches and shoes, but didnt find any that i really like..

At around 4+pm, we go and bought some dunkin donuts and sushi for our next day breakfast and went back to hotel for a short rest as Stephanie need to prepare herself to meet her bangkok counterpart for dinner later. Back at the hotel, Sharon went over to our room for a chat and to look at our "achievements" of the day.. Then my brain abit screw loose and suggest taking some pictures in our room.

After all the phototakings, we prepare ourselves for dinner second round of night shopping spree at Suan Lum night bazzar as we didnt shop enough on last night.

Sharon and i each bought a pair of slippers at Suan Lam last night.. Very comfortable wearing it. Left is mine and the one at the right is sharon's. Sharon very funny. She say "1,2,3.." to our feet as if it will smile to the camera.!! =p

First Day of Bangok Trip - 19/04/07

I’m back with some updates and pictures of my Bangkok trip from 19/04/07 to 21/04/07. On Day 1, I woke up at around 7am to prepare myself, do last min packing of my luggage and be on my way to airport to meet the rest at 10am.

I'm the earliest to reach the airport, lucky I have brought my ipod along to entertain myself while waiting for the rest. They arrived a few mins later and we went to Hans cafe for our breakfast and check-in to have a look at the stuffs in DFS. Nothing much attracted me at DFS, Stanrick bought a wedding magzine (so sweet!) and Stephanie started her shopping warm-up at DFS and bought perfumes at the store.

We reach Bangkok at around 1.30pm and we faster get into a cab and on our way to our hotel to unload our luggage and start our shopping spree as being planned in our itinerary by our dear Sharon.

Once we reached Pan-Pacific Hotel, we are given a pair of room at a corner on 27th floor. Stephanie and me will share a room and the lovebirds will have the other room. There is no inter-connection door between our rooms, but we are given a better deal in the hotel!! We are given two rooms that shared a private common corridor... Just imagine that we no need to close our door, just lock up the door of our common corridor and we can run in and out of each other rooms le... haha!

We rest for a while and we went to nearby McDonald for energy replenishment and took a cab to Platinum Shopping Mall as our first stop of shopping spree. It is a wholesale shopping mall that we will only be given special price if we buy three items or more within a store. However, I think we three girls do not share similar taste therefore, did not really buy much things at there.
Stanrick is very sian at there as there are no much stores cater for him... Ad for me, I bought a dress, a top, and some laundry stuffs at there. Actually, the laundry stuffs are quite nice, but do not have my size and that Stanrick still tease me on it... Aiya, see him so sian at there, dun mind him make a joke out of me... haha!!

After shopping around 2 hour plus, all of us are abit tired and we decided to head towards Chinatown for our dinner. Keke...Im very excited at this point of time not because of the dinner, but i can have my birdnest at there... Yummy! Sharon recommended us to a seafood restaurant at Chinatown and we ordered some dished that includes fish, veggie and Tom Yam Soup. Stephanie and I ordered 2 coconuts and Sharon with Stanrick ordered 2 bottles of coke. The food and drinks are very cheap and nice... Surprising, although there are a crowd in the restaurant, but they are very speedy in serving the food to us. I think it only takes them around 5 to 8 minutes to serve us all the dishes and it taste great! Although I dun take spicy food, but have to say that the tom yam soup is very very good!! Yummy!! After our dinner, we are deciding whether to eat durians or birdnest and the durians sold at there are very big. Wonder how it tastes like... However, in the end we decided to go to a Chinese store to have birdnest. Each of us ordered a bowl of it and we shared it among us. I think we really eat like pigs on the first day... Haha!

After dinner, we took a cab down to Suan Lam Night Bazaar. Heard from Sharon, that the bight bazaar is closing down at the end of April, so this most likely is my first and last time visit to this place le. The place is huge and there are alot of small shops in this bazzar. Here is the place that we really start our official shopping spree. It is better than Platinium as we can really bargain for a cheaper price and dun play play with me hor.. I have a good bargaining skills ever since i learnt it from my tour guide during my phuket trip a few years ago.

Even Stanrick's also loved this place and wanted to come back for second of shopping on the next day. I bought a skirt, a victoria design handbag and a pair of slippers at the night bazzar. As the two ladies, they also bought alot of stuffs as well. In total, i spent around $2.5k on today..

We head back to the hotel at around 10+ to 11 pm, and the toel really provided good services for their guests. They has provided "turn-in" service by placing the bath robes on your bed, slippers beside your bed and orchid on your pillow. So sweet of them..

Stephanie went for her shower first and i unload my shopping bags. However, there are some funny noise within our room (talk abt it on the next time, as i'm now blogging after midnight). I distract myself by turning on the tv and playing with my hp.. Hoping that Stephanie faster finish her shower to accompany me.
